Introduction & Vision
Top Down Ventures has announced the launch of MSP2MVP, also known as M2M, a research-based media platform dedicated to tackling the IT industry’s most complex problems and packaging solutions into free AI-enabled micro-apps and methodologies for MSPs.
The vision for this initiative was grounded in the belief that MSPs need more than surface-level content. As Managing Partner Joel Abramson explains, “There is a clear and urgent need for a research-first platform that helps MSPs cut through the noise and make strategic decisions with confidence. Our mission has always been to provide the strongest possible resources to help MSPs face the next decade of challenges.” Chris Day, CEO of ScalePad, echoes this sentiment, “This kind of rigorous research is sorely needed. I see it as the final frontier for the MSP industry.”
Strategic Acquisition
This launch follows Top Down’s acquisition of MSP Growth Hacks earlier this year, a move led by Abramson. That acquisition was the catalyst for turning the MSP2MVP vision into reality. As part of the transition, Kevin Clune joined Top Down as Head of Content and began building out the M2M brand property.
Reflecting on the decision, Joel Abramson shares, “When I first met Kevin, it was immediately clear we needed to do something together. His vision for influencing the MSP industry was thorough and well thought out. He had already built a strong personal brand and an incredible library of content, but it felt like more people needed to hear it.”
Top Down’s goal has been to bring together the many voices of the industry while curating the best independent research available. Acquiring MSP Growth Hacks and bringing Kevin on board created the foundation for that mission, with the clear objective of developing the strongest possible resources to help MSPs face the next decade of challenges. Abramson adds, “We value the synergy between MSPs and MSP vendors, and we believe it is what drives innovation for SMBs. MSP2MVP is the natural next step in bringing that vision to life.”
A New Form Of Media
While Kevin is no stranger to the IT media landscape, M2M has opened the door to new ways of delivering value beyond traditional articles and podcasts. As he notes, “The vision behind M2M aligns perfectly with my growing hypothesis that in the era of AI, content should be both deep and interactive. Written and video content have reached a saturation point in the IT Channel. Hot takes may make for a good hook on LinkedIn, but they rarely provide substance MSPs can operationalize.”
This belief fuels M2M’s research-first approach. By listening to the community and developing methodologies, the team brings ideas to life in the form of free micro-apps, or “lab apps,” and other resources that MSPs can implement immediately. Kevin adds, “It’s been an incredible collaboration between community members, vendors, and thought leaders, and we are just getting started.”
The excitement extends beyond the founding team. Early adopters have given glowing feedback. Allan Jocson, President at Agilitec, says, “What excites me about M2M is the way these modular tools make complex processes simple and repeatable. Instead of relying on a massive, one-size-fits-all platform, M2M gives MSPs focused mini-applications that fit how we actually work. This is the future, where small, smart tools connect together to give you exactly what you need.”
Research For Customer Success
The MSP2MVP platform is organized into research verticals, each supported by a Donor. At launch, the first vertical is Customer Success, backed by ScalePad. Ryan Sigouin, CRO at ScalePad, explains, “By backing M2M’s CS research, we’re helping equip the channel with the thought leadership and tools to win in the CS era.”
To ensure accountability to the community, M2M has also named MSP Owner and Transformative founder Joe Markert as Research Director for the Customer Success vertical. Markert sees the initiative as an opportunity to bridge a long-standing gap. “Customer Success has long been a buzzword in SaaS, but for MSPs, it’s often felt abstract or misaligned with the realities of service delivery. I strongly believe MSP2MVP will bridge that gap, translating the concept into actionable strategies, tools, and education tailored to the MSP model.”
Building A Legacy For MSPs
Looking ahead, M2M plans to expand into new research verticals in 2026. Abramson notes, “Growth and customer success are only the beginning. The future will be shaped by productivity, AI, advanced cybersecurity, and more. Building this brand with Chris and the Top Down team is more than another business venture. It is a legacy that will help shape the MSP industry for years to come. We deeply appreciate Chris’s vision and leadership, and ultimately Kevin’s belief that this property can become everything we imagined.”
